Guernsey was occupied for most of the Second World War from 30 June until liberation on 9 May , and many of the bunkers and fortifications can still be seen dotted around the coastline. There are absorbing museums to visit dedicated to the occupation of Guernsey during this period. We stay at the lovely Peninsula hotel which is ideally located on the north coast overlooking the bay of Grand Harve - a perfect spot for coastal walks, and golfers will find the Royal Guernsey Golf Club just 2 miles from the hotel.

There is a bus stop close to the hotel and regular buses stop here that cover different routes around the island, and go into St Peter Port, that can be reached in 20 minutes. There is a Guernsey sightseeing route that goes all the way around the island. If you choose to hire a car then you still drive on the left and the maximum speed limit on the island is just 35 miles per hour. Whichever you choose nowhere is far!
During your duplicate bridge holidays nothing is obligatory, you can play in as many or as few bridge sessions as you wish. We use duplimated boards every evening to ensure fairness and consistency. Bridge hand records are provided, as well as bridge partners if needed. Your duplicate bridge will usually be available twice daily, at 2. The afternoon sessions usually finish between 4.
