As of last week the menu no longer shows GF options and GF bread is no longer available. Changing the menu was a bad corporate decision and Axel's has lost my business. Gluten Free items clearly marked on the menu.
Several choices. The waitress was familiar with Celiac and cross contamination.
She explained that all GF orders are handled with extreme caution. I had the woodfired chicken which was excellent. I did have to send my salad back as it had a piece of bread on it. Big oops. That was the only mishap. The service is often a bit slower there, so do not go if you're in a hurry.
And don't miss the flourless chocolate torte for dessert They have gluten free in their menu. Friendly staff. Grilled Salmon was plain, no glaze still excellent. Green beans were steamed. The food seemed ok, but I did cramp up a little bit. I wonder about cross contam here since they did not seem very used to dealing with their gluten free menu the hostess took a minute to remember where they kept the gluten free menus making me think they rarely prepare the gluten free meals here.
Some of the servers comprehend gluten free, others do not have a clue. I was impressed that the manager brought out the gluten free meal on it's own tray and wearing gloves. They take cross contamination seriously!
