Walnut Creek
I always liked the ribs and rib combo plates. I enjoyed the open faced turkey sandwiches. Good pickles. Sides of beans and fairly unique coleslaw also enjoyable. Pretty good three-four star restaurant until you get away from ribs or combo plates. I made the mistake of listening to a waiter respond to my inquiry about a reuben sandwich. Hence the final three star rating. Go, use coupons, eat ribs. Don't get too experimental.

I go to this place when I'm not quiet sure where to go. It's sort of my back-up plan. It's in a run-down shopping center, but don't worry, it's worth it. Usually when you pull up there's horse trailers and trucks in the parking lot. This is where the horse people go for their hearty breakfast. Speaking of which, their breakfasts are awesome, and the portions are great.
I always get the corned beef and hash, and I can never finish it. For lunch I either get the cobb salad or the California Burger. The Cal.
Burger is so worthwhile! Avocado and bacon, hmmm! Their garden salads are my favorite side salad to get anywhere, and their fries though they used to be better , are really good as well.
The best part is you can take your doggie and sit out on the porch. Try the "value lunch" with a cup of the BEST clam chowder for miles.

Portions are excellent, and all menu choices I've tried are worth a second try. Great family restaurant. Good family restaurant. Service is good in the morning but can be spotty in the afternoon and evening. They have a value breakfast during the week which has a great selection of items and is reasonably priced.
