I understand if we cannot be helped immediately, but there is no excuse in the service industry to not just say, "welcome to Osaka, we will be with you shortly.
Our service after we were finally greeted and seated at a table was decent. The atmosphere inside was decent. Toward the end of our meal I decided to go to the bathroom, which is in the back of the restaurant requiring me to walk through the hibachi room. I was so happy we had opted to eat in the dining room. Being late August, it was 90 degrees outside and I'm unsure if the air conditioning was not functioning properly or if it was unable to handle the outside temperature plus the heat from the hibachi stations, but it was unbearably hot in the hibachi room.
Luckily the front dining cooling system was working fine, otherwise I would have given this a 1 star experience. Everyone's faces in the hibachi room were glistening with sweat and people were fanning themselves with menus at nearly every table. We will definitely try Osaka again and see if our overall dining experience can be beyond decent. The food was good and my husband thought there was a good selection of rolls and they were not loaded up with rice as is typical at some other sushi places.
