Furthermore the faculty's Research Institute focuses on the study of phenomena, processes and practices in the fields of public sector economics and finance, administrative and legal matters, informatisation of the public sector, e-governance and HRM in the public sector. The Consulting and Training Centre of the faculty annually organises two free public sector academies, four free professional counselings and sixty different educational programmes.
Next to these the faculty also offers extracurricular activities, tutorship career opportunities and an alumni club. In addition, the new and modern faculty infrastructure provides a specialised library. The study programme offers students skills for in-depth independent research work and autonomous solving of complex expert and scientific issues. The first part of the course syllabus is comprised of compulsory and general subjects while the second is divided into four programmes: the administrative-legal, administrative-economic, administrative-organization and administrative-information programmes which enable students to obtain detailed knowledge of narrow, select areas either due to already acquired practical experience or for the purpose of planned future occupation.

Incoming students are welcome only in second semester. The majority of the faculties are either in, or close to, the centre of the city but there are also some very modern buildings including Economics and Social Sciences that are a short 10 to 15 minutes bus ride from the centre of the city. Weekend trips to different parts of Slovenia are organised for students during the year and international students are encouraged to take advantage of these.

There are also things like sporting competitions and there is a tradition for Slovenian students to do cooking on special evenings for international students. On Erasmus Day all foreign students are encouraged to take part to showcase their home culture, food etc. All international students must register with the local authority within a few days after arrival. Help with this will be offered during the Orientation programs.

Each Faculty organises its own Orientation and brief outlines of the Orientation for each of the Faculties visited is included under that Faculty. The accommodation is apartment- type with kitchen, living area, bathroom and bedrooms which 3 to 5 students share.
The whole building is wireless connected. Many countries of the EU offer canteens catering specifically for students, where they can access healthy and nutritional meals for cheap prices. With the coupons, the students can eat a multiple course meal, which most often consists of a soup, a main dish, salad and fruit. For this, they often do not have to pay more than ,5 Euros as the rest of the costs are covered by the state, but there are places where they do not have to pay anything at all for simpler meals as these are subsidized by the country.
Students receive as many coupons as there are working days every month, but if they do not use up their coupons, these get transferred to the next month. Although students have a wide choice in every city that has a higher educational institution, students studying in Ljubljana are the luckiest as the capital boasts with the culinary specialities of every region of the world, so everybody will find something to their taste there. However, students studying in Paris cannot complain either because at the local canteens, they can buy points for strongly reduced fix prices, which they can exchange for dishes chosen from various categories.
For example, if they choose a more expensive main course, then they will have to pick a cheaper dessert.
Nevertheless, if they still decide to go for the more expensive dessert and thereby run out of points, they can compensate the difference with paying a bit more. The cheap use of public transportation is also a bonus that many students studying in European countries will miss when they graduate.
