If you are adopting a dog you will need to bring any current resident dogs for a meet and greet after your initial meeting. Please bring all vaccine records on your current animals.
Report Cruelty
Please be prepared to spend at least one hour with a counselor to process the adoption. Bring an approved leash and collar for dogs and puppies or an approved cat carrier for cats and kittens. Bring a current ID, cash, debit card or credit card. No checks accepted. All adoptions must be done in person, so please visit our Second Chance Adoption Center located at 14th Street W. Get to know each other Once you find a pet that you are considering adopting, you will be asked to complete a brief adopter profile sheet.
The Sleepover Program was developed to allow potential adopters to help determine whether a particular animal is a good match for their household, lifestyle and family. Dogs and cats 6 months of age or older can be approved to participate in a sleepover short term foster for a maximum of four 4 nights and five 5 days. The short-term foster can be terminated at any time during the sleepover by a potential adopter for any reason, to re-enter the animal in our adoption program or to be adopted by you, the adopter.
During the sleepover the animal remains the property of the Humane Society of Manatee County and dogs must be kept on leash when outside of the home and not visit any off-leash areas like dog parks etc. Dogs on sleepovers are not to interact with any animals outside of resident animals.

Benefits and Perks
We maintain a special program to help people cover the cost of spaying and neutering their pets. This program is funded entirely by donations. There are no income limits to qualify for assistance, we simply ask that people use this program only if they truly need the help.
Additionally, if you have some change to spare to this program, look for our donation banks on store counters all over Moscow. All funding for this program comes directly from those banks. This is a coupon program open to all residents of Latah County, that need financial assistance with spaying or neutering their pet. We give you a coupon good for money off the price of a spay or neuter. If you need assistance, just drop by the shelter for a form or download and print the application.
